Established in cooperation with Borsa İstanbul Inc., this initiative marks Borsa İstanbul’s first investment abroad, representing a major milestone for both institutions. |

A Strategic Partnership Agreement was signed between the IBU and YTU Yıldız Teknopark |

We are pleased to announce that the International Balkan University (IBU) has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with YTU Yildiz Technopark, one of Türkiye’s and Europe’s leading technology and innovation ecosystems. Through this partnership, the YTU Yildiz Technopark Skopje Office will soon begin its operations on our campus, establishing a new hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in the Balkans. |

IBU Attends the Official Reception Marking the 102nd Anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye |

International Balkan University proudly took part in the official reception organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Skopje to commemorate the 102nd Anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye.
The University was represented by Members of the Management Board, Mr. Recep Süleyman Özdil and Mr. Cemil Yıldız, together with our Rector, Prof. Dr. Lütfi Sunar. The delegation also included Vice Rectors, the General Secretary, Deans, and representatives from the academic and administrative staff. |

Rector Prof. Dr. Sunar Visits National Agency for European Educational Programs and Mobility |

International Balkan University (IBU) leadership, led by our Rector Prof. Dr. Lütfi Sunar, held a meeting with the Director of the National Agency for European Educational Programs and Mobility, Ms. Ana Mihajlov, to discuss the continued cooperation between our two institutions.
During the meeting, our Rector was accompanied by Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Katerina Mitevska Petrusheva, and Erasmus+ Institutional Coordination Asst. Prof. Dr. Mare Ushkovska. During the meeting, our team reiterated IBU’s commitment to the successful implementation and promotion of student and staff mobilities under the Erasmus umbrella. |

IBU Hosts Representatives of the SMART LEARN Erasmus+ Project |

International Balkan University had the pleasure of welcoming the representatives of the SMART LEARN Erasmus+ project to its campus.
The delegation was greeted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ebru Ibish, Vice-Rector of IBU, and Dr. Sümeyye Açıkgöz, Head of the Project and Research Office, who presented the University’s mission, vision, and international collaboration initiatives. Among the participants was Ms. Mihrimah Belma Sekmen, President of TOGEMDER, the coordinating organization of the project. |

IBU Holds Student Elections for the 2025/2026 |
|
We successfully conducted the Student Elections for the 2025/2026 Academic Year, reaffirming our commitment to fostering leadership, participation, and democratic values within our student community.
Throughout the election period, candidates from different faculties presented their visions and ideas aimed at enhancing student life and strengthening collaboration across the university. Through an open and transparent voting process, our students elected their new representatives to the IBU Student Assembly, who will serve as the voice of the student body in the upcoming academic year.
The elections once again showcased the enthusiasm, unity, and engagement of our students a true reflection of the vibrant and inclusive spirit that defines the International Balkan University.
We extend our sincere congratulations to all newly elected representatives and our appreciation to all students who actively participated in this meaningful process. |

The session focused on the thought-provoking topic “Should social media content be regulated?”, inspiring participants to present diverse viewpoints and engage in constructive dialogue. |

IBU Legal Clinic Students Engage in Practical Case Analysis |
|
Within the ongoing activities of the IBU Legal Clinic, our students participated in a hands-on learning experience through the analysis of a real client case involving a lease contract.
Under the guidance of their professor and assistants, the core group examined the legal distinctions between a contract with a notarial act of solemnization and the ordinary verification of signatures by a notary public. |

IBU Participates in the Trilateral Workshop on Academic Cybersecurity Practice in Germany |
|
The International Balkan University was represented at the Trilateral Workshop on Academic Cybersecurity Practice, hosted by the University of Passau, through the participation of Neslihan Ademi from the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Computer Engineering.
The workshop gathered representatives from universities across Bavaria (Germany), Poland, Czechia, North Macedonia, Romania, Bulgaria, and Kosovo, providing a valuable platform for exchanging experiences and best practices in IT security governance and cybersecurity management within higher education institutions. |
