We are pleased to announce the official opening of the 2025 International Student Congress (IBUISC’25), marking the beginning of three days dedicated to academic exchange and forward-thinking discussion under the theme: “The Future is Now: AI, Sustainability, and Ethics in a Rapidly Evolving World.” The ceremony opened with welcoming remarks by Prof. Dr. Lutfi Sunar, Rector of IBU, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Liza Alili Sulejmani, General Coordinator of IBUISC’25 and Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences. They emphasized our university’s commitment to fostering visionary dialogue among emerging scholars and distinguished global experts. |

IBU Hosts Third “Balkan Culture and Arts Talks” Session on Multilingualism and the Role of Turkish in the Balkans |

The third session of “Balkan Culture and Arts Talks,” organized by our Turkish Language Teaching Department, was successfully held at INNOX.
In the talk titled “Multilingual Life in the Balkans and the Position of Turkish,” participants explored the Balkans’ rich multilingual landscape and the sociolinguistic role of the Turkish language. |

Following the successful completion of the virtual component, today we officially launched the on-campus phase of the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) “Digital Transformation of English Language Teaching: Teaching Vocabulary and Writing in the Age of Digital Tools and AI.” |

IBU Erasmus Office Hosts International Guests for Teaching and Training Mobilities |
|
Our Erasmus Office successfully concluded a wide-ranging series of Erasmus+ activities, bringing together teaching, training, promotional engagements, and international collaboration initiatives across the university.
As part of the Erasmus+ Staff Mobilities for Teaching and Training, our Erasmus Office hosted visiting academics who delivered lectures on contemporary global and disciplinary topics, including Türkiye’s Foreign Policy in the 21st Century, Cybersecurity Challenges and Threats in Poland, and The Role of Grammar as a Dynamic Skill Area in Teaching Turkish to Foreigners. These sessions offered enriching perspectives and contributed significantly to the academic experience of our students and staff. |

IBU and Yeditepe University Present “NotTheSame” Exhibition Celebrating Cultural Heritage Through Contemporary Design |
|
We proudly presented the NotTheSame exhibition, showcasing the final outcomes of our collaborative project with Yeditepe University. The event featured opening remarks, a documentary presentation on the Alaca Mosque fieldwork, and student works that reinterpreted this cultural landmark through contemporary design.
The video includes interviews with our Rector, project coordinators, participating students, and the Imam of the Alaca Mosque, highlighting the cultural and academic importance of the initiative. We extend our gratitude to all contributors for their dedication.

IBU Hosts “What Is Not Literature?” Conference Highlighting Scholarly Dialogue and Cross-University Participation |

Our Turkish Language Teaching Department successfully organized the conference titled “What Is Not Literature?” in collaboration with the Faculty of Education.
The event opened with remarks delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ekrem Destanov, Head of the Turkish Language Teaching Department, followed by an insightful keynote lecture from Prof. Dr. Secaattin Tural.
Our Dean of the Faculty of Education, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Igballe Miftari-Fetishi, and our General Secretary, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seyhan Murtezan Ibrahimi, were present at the event. We were also pleased to welcome academics and students from Ss. Cyril and Methodius University and Tetovo State University, whose participation added value to the discussions and enriched the overall academic exchange. |

Our Vice Rector, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Lökçe, held an inspiring and constructive meeting with the representatives of our student clubs, accompanied by our dedicated student mentors.
The meeting focused on planning and coordinating activities for the upcoming academic year, with discussions covering new project proposals, long-term goals, and the support mechanisms needed to foster a more active, engaging, and student-centered campus environment. |

We are pleased to share that within the III Pillar of the Horizon EIT HEI Project Impact Campus, our WP4 Leader for Start-ups and Acceleration of Businesses, Prof. Dr. Snezana Bilic, successfully participated in the EIT IVAP (Innovation Vision Action Planning) Workshop 2025, held from 24–26 November 2025 at the ICE Kraków Congress Center in Poland. |
