IBU Welcomes Austrian Ambassador Martin Pammer for Official Visit |

We had the distinct honor of hosting His Excellency Martin Pammer, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to the Republic of North Macedonia, at International Balkan University. During his visit, His Excellency toured our campus, held a meeting with our Rector Prof. Dr. Lütfi Sunar, and visited our Halkbank Library, where he learned about its academic mission and key role in supporting research and teaching. Ambassador Pammer graciously donated a collection of books, enriching our resources with valuable works on Austrian culture and various academic fields. We extend our sincere appreciation for his meaningful contribution and reaffirm our commitment to further strengthening cooperation with the Austrian Embassy in education, culture, and academic exchange. |

As part of the course Theory of Foreign Trade, we were pleased to provide our students from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences with an enriching academic experience through a specialized guest lecture delivered by Mr. Veysel Sarach, Managing Partner at Nordvest Consulting. The session was organized under the guidance of Prof. Özkan Baki, whose continuous support ensures that our students engage closely with current professional practices in the field.

TranSustain HE Project Partner Meeting Successfully Held with IBU Participation |

We are pleased to share that the partner meeting of the TranSustain HE: Transforming Sustainability in Higher Education with a Data-Driven Digital Assessment System project, implemented under the Erasmus+ KA220-HED programme, was successfully held. Coordinated by Necmettin Erbakan University, the project includes International Balkan University as a partner, represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Katerina Mitevska Petrusheva and Asst. Prof. Dr. Kristina Velichkovska. The meeting focused on project progress, upcoming activities, and the development of a digital assessment system aimed at strengthening sustainability transformation in higher education institutions. This initiative supports enhanced institutional capacity through digital tools, sustainability indicators, and innovative evaluation mechanisms. |

IBU Marks Human Rights Day with Panel on Freedom of Expression, Media Responsibility, and Gender Perspectives |
|
International Balkan University marked Human Rights Day with a panel organized by the IBU Legal Clinic, focusing on freedom of expression, media responsibility, and gender perspectives in the digital age. Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ebru Ibish opened the event by underscoring the importance of protecting constitutional and international human rights. Moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Natalija Shikova, the panel featured expert insights from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marina Tuneva on media ethics, Prof. Dr. Sead Dzigal on the evolution of free speech in digital environments, and Ms. Biljana Nastovska on gender-sensitive approaches to freedom of expression. The event reinforced IBU’s commitment to promoting dialogue, awareness, and inclusive values within society. |
