Yıldız Technopark Opens Its New Office at BITLOFT within International Balkan University |

We are pleased to announce a significant milestone in our efforts to strengthen the regional innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. In collaboration with Yıldız Technopark, we have officially opened their new office within BITLOFT, the innovation center operating under the structure of the International Balkan University.
As a center established within our university, BITLOFT is designed to support technology companies seeking to expand into the Balkan market with an export-oriented vision. With Yıldız Technopark now joining our ecosystem through its new office, we aim to facilitate broader access for Turkish technology firms to the region, accelerate business development processes, and foster stronger cooperation across Balkan markets. |

From SEAL-NR to BioSense: IBU Showcases Research Excellence |

We were proud to represent IBU at the Horizons of Innovation: EU Research Collaboration Forum 2025 in Novi Sad, Serbia.
Our Rector’s Adviser, Prof. Dr. Snezana Bilic, took part as an invited expert in the panel and poster sessions, and presented the EU Virtual Exchange Project SEAL-NR, coordinated by IBU.
The forum gathered over 320 participants, featuring discussions on innovation, research, and EU project development. Prof. Bilic also joined the expert panel of the EU Project “Reality Check”, alongside leading EU evaluators and consultants.
The visit concluded with a tour of the BioSense Institute, a Centre of Excellence in Serbia, where experts explored cutting-edge innovations in food science. |

We were honored to welcome Prof. Dr. Tülin Vural Arslan, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at Bursa Uludağ University, and Prof. Dr. Selen Durak, Head of Department, during their official visit to our Department of Architecture.
During the visit, we held a constructive meeting with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ebru Ibish, Vice-Rector of IBU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marija Miloshevska Janakieska, Head of the Department of Architecture, and members of our academic staff. The session provided an excellent opportunity to present our academic profile, activities, and ongoing projects, while also learning about the work and initiatives of our esteemed guests. |

International Public Law Students Discuss Palestinian Statehood at IBU |

We had the honor of hosting Dr. Yazid Zahda at our Faculty of Law for a powerful guest lecture on “Palestine: Erosion of Statehood.”
Our International Public Law students explored the historical and contemporary challenges surrounding Palestinian statehood and engaged in a thoughtful discussion on governance, self-determination, and the impact of colonial legacies.

We had the pleasure of welcoming Ms. Nadica Stavrova, EMBA as a guest lecturer at our Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. In her lecture, “From Diversity to Belonging: Transforming the Modern Workplace,” she shared valuable insights on the evolving role of diversity, inclusion, and belonging in modern organizations. With extensive international experience in People & Culture strategy and organizational transformation, Ms. Stavrova offered our students practical perspectives on the future of work and the importance of inclusive leadership. IBU Marks Human Rights Day with Student-Led Panel and Art Exhibition |

We proudly marked Human Rights Day with an inspiring panel discussion organized by our Student Wellbeing Center, led by Asst. Sezer Ferhad and Asst. Muhammed Fatih Kaytan. Students from different faculties took the stage as panelists, sharing powerful insights on the ongoing challenges and importance of protecting human rights in today’s world. Our Vice Rector, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Lökçe, addressed the participants, emphasizing the vital role of student engagement in building a more just and thoughtful society. He also awarded certificates to our panelists for their meaningful contributions. The event continued with a Human Rights–themed art exhibition, where our talented art students showcased impactful works highlighting justice, equality, and human dignity. We remain committed to fostering awareness, dialogue, and student involvement in promoting human rights. |

Bridging Classical Thought and Modern Human Experience at IBU |

Our Department of Turkish Language Teaching welcomed Prof. Dr. Metin Izeti for a lecture titled “From Shadow to Truth: Our Inner Journey Through Mevlana’s Mirror and the Modern Human’s Search for Meaning.”
The program began with opening remarks from Asst.Prof.Dr. Ekrem Destanov, Head of the Turkish Language Teaching Department, followed by a welcoming address from our Vice-Rector Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Lökçe.
The event was attended by our university leadership, academic staff, students, and guests. Prof. Dr. Izeti discussed Mevlana’s intellectual perspective and the human search for meaning, offering relevant and thoughtful insights to the participants.

IBU Academics Participate in International Symposium on Teaching Turkish in Germany |
|
The International Symposium on the Teaching of Turkish and the Role of Turkish Culture in Intercultural Communication was held on December 6–7, 2025, in Cologne, Germany, under the auspices of the Yunus Emre Institute, in cooperation with the Turkish Language Association and the Turkish-German University. Bringing together scholars and experts from diverse academic backgrounds, the symposium provided an important platform for in-depth discussions on the teaching of Turkish and the representation of Turkish culture in intercultural contexts. Prof. Dr. Lokman Turan and Asst. Prof. Dr. Serdar Başutku from our University’s Department of Turkish Language Teaching attended the symposium and actively contributed to its academic content. Throughout the event, key themes such as teaching Turkish as a foreign language, cultural interaction and transmission, folk literature, diaspora studies, and cultural diplomacy were addressed through scholarly presentations and panel sessions. These discussions highlighted both theoretical perspectives and practical approaches aimed at strengthening the global teaching of Turkish and enhancing cultural understanding. |
